Grain Storage Container

September 2017, Mozambique

Find a low-cost and simple manner of storing grain efficiently such that it is void of disease and humidity.

Approximately, 40-60% of all grain that is stored in rural Mozambique is often lost as a result of poor storage containers. This phenomenon forces farmers to sell in one go upon harvest, which causes a massive fall in price, meaning that they incur poor value for their work. This leads them to having to buy food before the harvest that is heavily overpriced, meaning they are often the communities that suffer of malnutrition and famine the most.
